Sepiolite-PAN intercalation used as Si3N4 forming precursor

摘要: Silicon nitride (Si3N4) formation was investigated using sepiolite and polyacrylonitrile as silicon carbon source, respectively. It found that purified could readily adsorb a sufficient amount of acrylonitrile (AN) reagent without pre-treatment. Polymerisation sepiolite-AN mixtures subsequent cyclization the polymerised complex yielded precursor, which ideal starting material in carbothermal reduction-nitridation (CRN) for powders. The quantity nitride, grain size morphology were to be dependent on reaction conditions reagent. Fine size, high surface area (up approx. 12.4 m2/g) powders mainly β-Si3N4 obtained via pyrolysis sepiolite-PAN after 4 h heating at 1400°C 1000 ml/min nitrogen flow with rate 300°C/h. Mg retained molecular structure mineral must have promoted β-grains CRN process.
