摘要: The Laptev and Eastern Siberian shelves are the world’s broadest shallow shelf systems. Large rivers coastal erosion of up to meters per summer deliver large volumes terrestrial matter into Arctic seas. In this chapter we investigate applicability Ocean Colour Remote Sensing during ice-free season in Sea region. We show that early river peak discharge may be traced using remote sensing years characterized by sea-ice retreat. time after discharge, spreading main Lena River plume east north-east Delta system becomes hardly traceable optical methods. Measurements suspended particulate (SPM) coloured dissolved organic (cDOM) same magnitude waters Buor Khaya Bay as River. Match-up analyses situ chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) standard Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) Moderate Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite-derived Chl-a is not a valid product for inner region Sea. All MERIS MODIS-derived products overestimated at least factor ten, probably due absorption extraordinarily high amount non-algal particles cDOM these inner-shelf waters. Instead, provides information on wide-spread resuspension over shallows lateral advection visible turbidity. Satellite Surface Temperature (SST) data clearly hydrodynamics delineate outflow hundreds kilometres out
