摘要: The critical micellar concentration (CMC) of stearoylcarnitine was determined at different pH values room temperature by fluorescence spectroscopy, monitoring the spectral changes 8-anilinonaphthalene-1-sulfonate (ANS). CMC found to vary with pH, increasing from about 10 microM 3.0 ca. 25 7.0, but decreasing slightly further increase in approximately 19 10.0. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) shows that dispersed water low undergoes a broad thermotropic phase transition 44.5 degrees C, enthalpy 15.0 kcal/mol. (Tt) shifts 50.5 C presence 1 mM EDTA or when is increased significantly. turbidity aqueous dispersions be considerably high temperatures, which decreases quite abruptly over short range, indicating occurs large aggregates one much smaller aggregates, most likely micelles. as 29.1 3.0, up value 55.3 8.6 and remains nearly constant thereafter 11.2. dependence Tt suggest pKa carboxyl group long chain acylcarnitines higher temperatures upon aggregation (micelles bilayer membranes).
