摘要: Abstract The present paper provides considerable insight into the structure of two-phase flow as well its characteristics inside mini- and micro-channels. A new test facility was designed constructed to investigate regimes pressure drop in frictional measurements experiments were performed with three different sections, which are 3 mm, 1 mm, 800 μm diameter. experimental data compared homogenous model, Friedel [L. Friedel, Improved friction correlations for horizontal vertical pipe flow, Paper E2, European Two-Phase Group Meeting, Ispra, Italy, 1979] Chisholm [D. Chisholm, theoretical basis Lockhart Martinelli Correlation Int. J. Heat Mass Transfer, 10, 1967, pp. 1767–1778] order determine their validity range micro-channel flows. model showed most similarities acquired 1 mm 0.8 mm while over-predicted every section. patterns observed high gas superficial velocities (UGS ⩾ 10 m/s) using a 3CCD analog camera, comparisons made existing regime maps. data, available literature, used develop simplified map this separated surface-tension-dominated inertia-dominated regimes. named bubbly, intermittent, churn annular. intermittent regroups all slug plug flows, transition flows occurring vicinity region. It found that lines provide good approximation transitions studies within allowable map.
