摘要: A method of growing gray tin single crystals from a liquid amalgam is presented together with description the apparatus and specification conditions growth. Photographs typical ranging in size up to 2 cm showing well‐developed crystallographic planes are included. Residual resistance measurements indicate total impurity content order 0.001%. The energy gap same as for transformed material but low‐temperature mobilities considerably higher. Evidence that gray‐to‐white transformation diffusionless type presented.
