摘要: Background Challenges for practitioners who work with parents intellectual disability arise from several sources. The purpose of the current study was to identify stressors experienced by in Australia, investigate coping strategies and explore training needs so as inform professional development this group. Materials Methods Fifty-eight, predominantly female Australian practitioners, completed a questionnaire, which included demographics section questions (developed specifically study), addition Mental Health Professionals Stress Scale, Perceived Brief COPE. Results main were workload, client-related difficulties organizational structure processes. Although indicated that they required additional 15 areas, one area highlighted particularly important, is, tailoring interventions individual parent goals. Conclusions It is suggested managers, service planners, educators professionals involved stress reduction be aware may focal point future disability.
