摘要: Multifocal corneal refractive surgery for the correction of presbyopia is optimized, based on patient pupil measurements and acuity requirements. Measurements are made patient's dimensions in bright dim light, with near distant focusing. A series mathematical models wavefront transmitted through eye/multifocal optic system constructed, modulation transfer functions calculated, a optical zone decentrations. The maximum resolvable spatial frequency expected visual calculated as decentration. requirements compared to acuity, optimized decentration meeting determined. required postoperative multifocal profile calculated. computer-controlled laser, mechanical, thermal, or conductive device reshapes cornea implant. Nomograms disclosed centered, circular surgery.
