摘要: Purpose: evaluate association between social and demographic variables, breastfeeding interruption deleterious oral habits the prevalence of non-nutritive sucking in 03 to 05 years old school children Vitoria, Espirito Santo.Method: this is a retrospective longitudinal study with final random sample 903 from universe 9.829 students. The comparison predictive variables used Fisher Exact test strength verified by Odds Ratio.Results: 12,4% present or had presented finger habit 37,7% pacifier. There was no statistically significant weaning. Female 20% more chance have pacifier (p=0,000). Children that early breast feeding approximately 4 times developing pacifiers (p= 0.000).Conclusions: weaning verified. Early can be considered risk factor for maintenance habit.
