摘要: Abstract Despite increased awareness of the prevalence and seriousness mental health problems in early childhood, there have been few empirical studies suicidal thoughts behaviors this age group. This study examined 360 preschool-aged children (ages 3 to 7 years) presenting a psychiatric day treatment program. A semi-structured diagnostic interview (conducted with primary caregivers) was used assess for child disorders. Participating mothers also reported on their own psychological distress family history. Forty-eight (13%) were behaviors, plans or attempts endorsed 2–3% sample. Suicidal thinking behavior associated older higher rates concurrent depression, oppositional defiant disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder univariate analyses, depression remaining as significant predictors multivariate logistic regression model. Findings suggest that are clinical concern young psychopathology, particularly implications childhood assessment treatment.
