摘要: The aim of this study was to verify the persistence in adulthood GH deficiency diagnosed childhood and treated with hGH whether anatomical hypothalamic-pituitary alterations evaluated by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging could predict it. To goal, six GHD adults (3 males 3 females aged 17.2-24.5 yr, BMI 21.8 +/- 1.3), we studied anterior pituitary hormone response GHRH (1 microgram/kg iv)+pyridostigmine (120 mg po)+ GnRH (100 micrograms iv) +TRH (400 iv)+hCRH as well brain MR imaging. In childhood, diagnosis severe isolated had been done based on auxological findings < 7 micrograms/L after two classical provocative stimuli. present study, hormonal responses showed 4 out 6 patients (peak, mean SEM: 3.8 0.6, range 2.6-4.8 micrograms/L). these patients, IGF-I levels were found low or low-normal. other 2 a clear stimulation (peak: 51.3 43.0 micrograms/L, respectively) together normal found. No all subjects. hypoplasia persistent GHD; them, stalk interruption ectopic neurohypophysis also present. On hand, hypothalamo-pituitary morphology subjects somatotrope response. conclusion, our data indicate that testing potent stimulus such GHRH+pyridostigmine is reliable method assess which associates at Patients transient reserve have
