摘要: Abstract Simple and novel nuclease models have been synthesized. These involve metal-binding ligand 1,4,7,10-tetraazlcyclododecane (cyclen) tethered to an acridine ring (a DNA-binding group) by amide linkers of various lengths. Binding these probes DNA was studied monitoring changes in their UV–visible spectra affected the presence DNA. Titration compounds with increasing amounts pBR322 caused hypochromic effects shifted absorption at 360 nm a longer wavelength. Under biologically relevant conditions (37 °C pH 7.4), specific transition metal complexes are found be highly effective catalysts toward hydrolysis plasmid This is demonstrated ability convert super-coiled (form I) open-circular II). Structure-activity correlation studies show that hydrolytic activity depends on both structure (L 1  > L 2 3 ) nature ion cofactor (Co 3+  > Zn 2+  > Cr  > Ni  > Cu  > Fe ).
