摘要: Herbicide labels recommend sufficiently large doses to achieve high efficacy of weed control under a range environmental conditions. While users may not apply greater than recommended they less, but do so without quantitative guidance. This paper explores long-run biological and economic outcomes fixed label strategies keyed density weeds in Obest fixed-doseO (BFD) efficacy-targetingO (BET) modes. Analysis based on 59 experiments wheat fields across southern Australia, from 1986 1995, indicate the latter are superior maximum rates terms (a) mean net present values current future benefits costs management, expressed as Hamiltonians seed banks, (b) gross margins, (c) lower overall herbicide use. BFD have further practical advantages simplicity information requirements for user, BET tailoring applications specific field environments.
