摘要: The multi-scale nature and inherent complexity of biological systems are a great challenge for computer modeling classical paradigms. We present novel particle automata metaphor in the context developing 3D model Fusarium graminearum infection wheat. system consisting host plant pathogen cells can be represented by an ensemble discrete particles defined set attributes. cells-particles interact with each other mimicking mechanical resistance cell walls coalescence. move, while some their attributes changed according to prescribed rules. rules represent cellular scales complex system, integrated (PAM) simulates its overall behavior. show that due ability interactions tip tissue, is able simulate realistic penetration properties colonization process reproducing both vertical lateral invasion scenarios. comparison simulation results micrographs from laboratory experiments shows encouraging qualitative agreement between two.
