摘要: Diabetes and the related metabolic syndrome are multi system disorders that result from improper interactions between various cell types. Even though underlying mechanism remains to be fully understood, it is most likely both long short distance range interactions, which normally ensure physiologic functioning of pancreas, its relationships with insulin-targeted organs, altered. This review focuses on short-range type depend contact adjacent cells and, specifically, dependent connexins. The widespread distribution these membrane proteins, their multiple modes action, conditions/molecules associated pathogenesis treatment 2 main forms diabetes syndrome, make connexins an essential part chain events leads diseases. Here, we present state knowledge about molecular biology connexin genes general mechanisms roles specific species play in endocrine pancreas major under physiological patho-physiological conditions.
