摘要: Abstract The rule-based modeling can efficiently generate 3D city models and has a great potential in supporting urban planning design. Nowadays there is still lack of researches about the application from viewpoint planning. This study aims to fill this scarcity, focused on method (CityEngine), discussed how use it support projects. In first part, paper briefly reviewed current methods, described applications CityEngine (CE). second part paper, an old district located southern China was taken as area discuss apply CE preparation protection district. case study, CE-based process analyzed be summarized following aspects: (1) data processing; (2) classification structure elements; (3) model generating assigning rules; (4) generation modification. Finally, applicability design also discussed.
