摘要: Chinese medicine emphasizes the underlying connection of bodily, emotional, social, and environmental dimensions in illness experience healing. The therapeutic process, characterized as tiao (attuning, balancing), targets patient’s overall condition including both physical nonphysical aspects suffering. This study, incorporating techniques microanalysis an ethnographic tool using actual recorded clinical interaction data, analyzes how path to effective healing is negotiated among multiple realities at a clinic Beijing. A close examination interactive features face-to-face communication between doctor patient specific case “stagnation emotions” reveals that, for recognized originating from disordered emotions, adjustment perceptions reality social relations particularly salient “attuning” process. Efficacy then should be understood more than physiological changes produced by herbs, but also emergent through event encounters. study demonstrates empirically process works define transform emotions experience.
