摘要: Abstract Aim The constituents of weight loss following bariatric surgery are poorly known. There is an expectation a limited lean body mass (LBM), and significant fat (FM) as well muscle (MM), which could lead to functional metabolic impairment. This prospective study analysed the determinants MM changes after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass sleeve gastrectomy. Methods cohort comprised 114 consecutive candidates for referred centre. Using DEXA, subjects' composition was assessed before, three 12 months ( n =92) after, surgery, along with their biological status. main outcome in MM. Results At months, patients had lost 20.3kg, made up 41% LBM 59% FM. contribution 16.4%. Cluster analysis showed that 52 patients 15% 12 months, 37kg, 70% FM 30% LBM. this time, only 27 lost>15% were negatively independently associated at glycaemia thyroid-stimulating hormone ([TSH]; thyrotropin) before whereas change 12-month determinant changes. Conclusion Two phenotypes – one wasting other acceptable loss – threshold very few predictive factors identified by study.
