摘要: Background: Type 2 diabetes is associated with elevated oxidative stress and declines in antioxidant defense. The disease also characterized by an imbalance the ratio of cardiac sympathetic to parasympathetic tone. Antioxidants, vitamin E particular, may have beneficial effects on autonomic nervous system through a decline stress. Objective: We investigated possible system, as assessed analysis heart rate variability, patients type neuropathy. Design: In double-blind randomized controlled trial, 50 were assigned treatment (600 mg/d) or placebo for 4 mo. Results: anthropometric characteristics remained unchanged throughout study. Chronic administration was decreases concentrations glycated hemoglobin (P < 0.05), plasma insulin norepinephrine 0.03), epinephrine 0.02); lower homeostasis model assessment index 0.05); improved indexes Furthermore, increases R-R interval total power high-frequency component variability (HF; P 0.05) low-frequency (LF; LF HF 0.05). Finally, change concentration correlated LF-HF (r = -0.43, 0.04) independently changes catecholamines concentrations. Conclusions: improves tone diabetes. Such effect might be mediated
