摘要: Abstract In the present study optical properties of Eu3+-activated rare earth oxyorthosilicate, RE2(SiO4)O:Eu3+ (RE ≡ Gd, Y, Lu) powder samples were investigated. The luminescence spectra recorded at 77 K using site selective excitation by a dye laser in addition to conventional UV excitation. Strong was observed only from 5D0 level. Site gave two sites for Eu3+ ion all oxyorthosilicates studied. lutetium and yttrium compounds are deduced be very similar since small differences exist → 7F0 transition energies, because 7Fj level schemes resemble each other. absence degeneracy levels indicates low symmetry both sites, which rather different. gadolinium oxyorthosilicate cation differ significantly emission one showed doubled peaks probably due local distortions.
