摘要: Abstract Optimization of a semicontinuous emulsion polymerization reaction is carried out using mathematical model derived from first principles to represent the process. Iterative Dynamic Programming (IDP), being straightforward procedure that allows implementation optimization constraints, an attractive tool optimize highly complex and nonlinear equation systems such as those are used processes. In order minimize time reaction, intervals with varying lengths were allowing establishment optimal operation conditions where final not specified. The applied two systems: (a) butyl acrylate/vinyl acetate copolymerization controlled composition; (b) vinyl homopolymerization specified molecular weight. Results show significant reductions possible their extent depends on reactor's heat removal capacity formulated constraints.
