摘要: Introduction Urinary catheters are used extensively throughout healthcare for various reasons including management of urinary tract dysfunction. The purpose this study was to simultaneously explore both catheter user experience and staff perception services within community care. Methods A questionnaire conducted investigate the views nursing staff. During same time period, patients were interviewed about i) catheter-care standards adherence guidelines ii) patients' feelings towards their iii) potential improvements practices design. Results Sixty-nine surveyed. Although 97% indicated they local guidelines, in up 62% cases findings suggested sending urine samples culture did not comply with guidelines. Seventy-five percent satisfied care, but weaknesses identified handover processes, communication between patients, excessive documentation. Staff results compared from interviews 29 long-term users, demonstrating a higher level satisfaction care amongst (86%).
