摘要: Fifteen different classically generated and mapped mutations at the tryptophan synthetase locus in Neurospora crassa have been characterized to level of primary sequence gene. This analysis has demonstrated that intragenic recombination is accurate order within one open reading frame. While classic genetic correctly ordered mutations, position by gene was more accurate. A leaky mutation found a wild-type sequence. The presence unique polymorphisms trp-3 from strain 861 confirms it history relative other strains studied. Most were previously shown be immunologically nonreactive with antibody preparations raised against protein nonsense mutations. work defines 14 alleles N.
