摘要: Studies on the corrosion behaviour of mild steel electrodes in inhibited hydrochloric acid are described. Conventional weight loss measurements show that a maximum concentration 140 ppm tannin from Rhizophora racemosa is required to achieve 72% inhibition. Similar tannin: H3PO4 ratio 1:1 gave 61% inhibition efficiency, whereas efficiency obtained for phosphoric as inhibitor same environment was 55%. Corrosion rates over six hours exposure 1M HCl solution at concentrations 2 mA/cm2, 2.4 2.6 mA/cm2 and 6 tannin, tannin/H3PO4 H3PO4-inhibited uninhibited specimens respectively. Natural atmospheric studies revealed treated resisted three weeks, while suffered attack after one week tests.
