摘要: As a first step in clarifying the involvement of class I knotted1-like homeobox (KNOXI) genes storage root development sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas), we isolated three KNOXI genes, named Ibkn1, Ibkn2 and Ibkn3, expressed roots. Phylogenetic analysis showed that Ibkn1 was homologous to SHOOT MERISTEMLESS (STM) gene Arabidopsis, while Ibkn3 were BREVIPEDICELLUS (BP) gene. Of these, expression upregulated developing mature roots compared with fibrous different patterns preferentially at proximal end around primary vascular cambium, highest thickest part lower both distal ends. In contrast Ibkn2, not consistent among cultivars. The distribution endogenous trans-zeatin riboside (t-ZR) similarity pattern supporting idea control cytokinin levels physiological functions these are discussed.
