摘要: Artocarpus communis is used traditionally in Cameroon to treat several ailments, including infectious and associated diseases. This work was therefore designed investigate the antimicrobial activities of methanol extract (ACB) compounds isolated from bark this plant, namely peruvianursenyl acetate C (1), α-amyrenol or viminalol (2), artonin E (4) 2-[(3,5-dihydroxy)-(Z)-4-(3-methylbut-1-enyl)phenyl]benzofuran-6-ol (5). The liquid microdilution assay determination minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) microbicidal (MMC), against seven bacterial one fungal species. MIC results indicated that ACB as well 4 5 were able prevent growth all tested microbial All other showed selective activities. lowest value 64 μg/ml for crude recorded on Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25922 Escherichia coli 8739. corresponding 32 with Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA01 compound E. 8739, their inhibition effect P. being more than chloramphenicol reference antibiotic. overall study provided supportive data use A. some its constituents treatment infections studied microorganisms.
