摘要: pH-responsive transcription factor of the PacC/Rim101 family governs adaptation to environment, development and virulence in many fungal pathogens. In this study, we report functions a PacC homologue, MrpacC, an insect pathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii. The gene was highly transcribed alkaline conditions, deletion MrpacC impaired responses ambient pH salt/metal challenges but not osmotic stress. We found that is required for full by contributing penetration cuticles, mycosis cadavers evasion host immunity. strains, chitinase protease activity reduced, which consistent with downregulation groups A C genes. Further, glucosyltransferase genes involved cell wall remodelling protein glycosylation were upregulated ΔMrpacC. transcriptional control verified both presence consensus binding motif promoter regions DNA-binding assays. results study only advances understanding function virulence, will also facilitate future studies on mechanism(s) behind selective target PacC.
