摘要: The most commonly accepted correlation between spontaneous field potential activity of the neocortex (electrocorticogram, ECoG) and behaviour concerns waking vs slow wave sleep. first is usually considered accompanied by low amplitude fast (called “desynchronized”) sleep, rhythmic delta spindles, which imply synchronous firing neuronal ensembles. More recent data from several groups have now provided evidence that can also be patterns defined frequencies. to described herein show in alert cats sets characteristic rhythms recorded a variety cortical subcortical sites*. Arguments will developed showing one interesting behavioural correlates these attention paid animal its surrounding. Our overview here include, firstly description rhythms, then summary our investigations on thalamic areas presumably involved activities. A third part devoted modulatory actions deep brainstem structures through aminergic neurotransmitters. In final section we shall consider some general problems posed functional significance observed
