摘要: Research, conducted in collaboration with a leading aerospace manufacturer, aimed to facilitate learning order improve the reliability of engineering systems during their development phase. In particular, processes and mathematical models used growth testing were investigated assess how they might be better support this improvement. This required both soft hard OR approaches adopted. For example, information flows mapped reengineered provide basis for more effective data collection feed-back decision-makers. A new model that combines failure judgement was developed estimate growth. The paper presents case study describing problem, modelling conducted, recommendations made actions implemented. ways which researchers manufacturer learnt process are reflected upon.
