摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the role of geological discontinuities and tectonic stresses in mine seismicity. An a priori knowledge characteristics pre-existing zones weakness situ stress field can aid identification areas where large mining-induced events occur. The focuses on rockbursts other forms seismicity, which involve stress-induced fracture or faulting rockmass. Mine seismicity is essentially rock failure because alteration virgin state by mining an opening Several factors including depth mining, geometry, rate volume extracted influence redistribution and, hence, occurrence Equally important are such as surface topography, properties, structure, stress. Microseismic data, consisting ground motion recordings seismic event, provide basis for determining event origin time, location, magnitude, source parameters drop dimensions, possibly style orientation shear plane relative magnitudes associated with generation event.
