摘要: We examined the role of visual exploration strategies in infants’ discrimination between facial emotion expressions. Twenty-eight 6-11-month-olds were habituated to alternating models posing same expression (happy N =14 /fearful = 14) as eye gaze data collected with a corneal reflection tracker. Gaze behavior analyses indicated that duration eyes and mouth was similar, consistent what would be expected based on area subtended by those regions, negatively correlated. This pattern did not differ function age, sex, or habituation condition. There no posthabituation performance differences age group (6-8 month- versus 9-11 month-olds). Only infants happy faces showed longer looking at novel (fear) when model held constant from test. found reliable correlation this proportion directed any one region. Consistent previous work, fear novelty preference. Individual shed light finding. Greater correlated positively preference for (happy). These suggest that, other object classes, are an important agent change capacity learn about (218 words)
