摘要: While it is now broadly accepted that inter-individual variation in the outcomes of host-pathogen interactions at least partially genetically controlled, host immunogenetic characteristics are rarely investigated wildlife epidemiological studies. Furthermore, most studies wild focused solely on major histocompatibility complex (MHC) diversity despite accounts for only a fraction genetic pathogen resistance. Here, we Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) population Bargy massif, reservoir virulent outbreak brucellosis. We analysed polymorphism and associations with disease resistance MHC Class II Drb gene several non-MHC genes (Toll-like receptor genes, Slc11A1) involved innate immune response to Brucella domestic ungulates. found very low neutral unique haplotype this founded few decades ago from small number individuals. By contrast, other immunity-related have maintained some showed significant brucellosis infection status hence suggesting predominant role pathogen-mediated selection their recent evolutionary trajectory. Our results highlight need monitor look beyond MHC.
