摘要: Recent studies indicate that the foraging success of a honeybee colony is enhanced when it has numerous genetically diverse patrilines because queen polyandry. We determined whether improved in part patriline diversity generates more responsive populations scouting foragers. Scouts search for new food sources and advertise them with waggle dances to inform other foragers about unexploited discoveries. moved multiple-patriline single-patriline colonies unfamiliar locations so relied heavily on successful scouts initiate recruitment then compared development effort between two types colonies. More dance signals were produced during incipient stages reported discoveries longer dances. also returned at rates thirds higher than those colonies, although return general forager not significantly different types. The distance from hives increased time all but by end their first day an environment, maximal reach was greater if had multiple patrilines. Most came minority scout-rich generally which derived; presence such correlated extent signaling show how colony’s (and not) extremely polyandrous queens produce
