This reached its peak 1822 when clergyman Daniel Conybeare (1787–1857) collaborated with produce this rigorous improved assessment geological composition England Wales. Although no second volume was ever published, book had tremendous impact geologists throughout United Kingdom Europe, inspiring foreign scholars equivalent volumes about their own countries. Conybeare's concern for stratigraphy fossils is especially remarkable time. Fitton, president Geological Society London, praised highly, remarking that 'no equal portion earth's surface has been more ably illustrated'.
