摘要: Designing bioresponsive nanocarriers for controlled and efficient intracellular drug release cancer therapy is a major thrust area in nanomedicine. With recent recognition by the US FDA as safe material human trials, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNPs) are being extensively explored promising theranostic agents. Green fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs), though known possible alternatives their more toxic relatively less predecessors, gate keepers control. We report first time an bioresponse of CQDs when judiciously designed using glutathione cleavable (redox responsive) disulphide bonds. When anticancer doxorubicin loaded MSNPs capped with these CQDs, they display control on exposure to mimicked environment. Their dual functionality well established good preventing premature exceptional bio-imaging HeLa cells. Fluorescence images prove selective targeting cells overexpression folate receptors from surface functionalised folic acid ligand. Extensive characterisation XRD, TEM, BET analysis, loading tests, kinetics, MTT assay fluoroscence cell imaging helps understanding multifunctionalities successful design, extending its scope exciting prospects towards non-invasive targeted delivery effective diagnosis treatment.
