Enhanced low-temperature performance of slight Mn-substituted LiFePO4/C cathode for lithium ion batteries

摘要: Low temperature performance of LiFePO4/C cathode was remarkably improved by slight Mn-substitution. Electrochemical measurements showed that about 95% the discharge capacity LiFe0.98Mn0.02PO4/C at 20°C obtained 0°C, compared to 85% cathode. The sample also presented enhanced rate −20°C with capacities 124.4 mA h/g (0.1C), 99.8 (1C), 80.7mAh/g (2C) and 70 (5C), respectively, while pristine only delivered 120.5 90.7 70.4 52.2 (5C).
