摘要: OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to investigate, in parallel, changes electrogustometric (EGM) thresholds, the morphology and density fungiform papillae (fPap), shape vessels at tip human tongue patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). METHODOLOGY: In 36 (19 females, 17 males; 12 subjects type 1 DM 24 2 DM), we recorded bilateral EGM-thresholds areas innervated by chorda tympani, glossopharyngeal nerves, greater petrosal nerves. We examined fPap blood vessel contact endoscopy (CE). A group healthy, age-matched, non-smoking individuals served as controls. RESULTS: measured CE significantly (p < 0.05) reduced compared control groups. were higher than 0.05). Gender did not have a significant impact on EGM findings within group. Body mass index affect or vascularization fPap. CONCLUSION: These results suggested that gustatory function, based EGM, impaired anatomical structures, CE. Both may be useful clinical settings monitor taste disorders DM.
