摘要: Summary In this study grindability of several representative advanced ceramics, such as Al2O3, ZrO2 SiC and Si3N4 are experimentally investigated using a surface grinding machine. Grinding conditions broadly varied from conventional pendulum to creep-feed grinding. Through the observation ground removed swarf, with an electron microscope, it is confirmed that material removal process primarily depends on micro-brittle fractures ceramics rather than their plastic deformations. The specific energies markedly higher in Moreover, force increases very rapidly time case. These results indicate not necessarily suitable for ceramics. other words, so-called speed stroke high workpiece considered more improving efficiency. stiffness, roughness, ratio also measured. experiments carried out study, useful information obtained which can increase efficiency ceramic
