摘要: An experimental multipurpose alkali plasma device for atomic or molecular level studies of various properties is described. The apparatus built up around two three electrodes which are mounted in a vacuum chamber, with the vapor introduced through an array laser‐machined holes one electrodes. There no walls insulating materials close to electrodes, could disturb introduce contamination into it. open and free position chamber permits many types analyzing devices be inside order characterize plasma, most cases has pressure 1 mbar. Outside region, drops quickly background 10−6 design easily probing experiments where example Langmuir probe directly determine potential. fundamental parameters, such as electrode temperatures, interelectrode distance, pressure, can varied. interchangeable, rapid testing materials. includes electronic dc sweep pulse system, gives wide range possibilities control plasma. Besides direct characterization features this apparatus, beam methods used study flux from region. Of special importance use sampling mass spectrometer. Large openings differential pumping minimize deexcitation Rydberg species
