摘要: Abstract In this study, the corrosion behavior of single crystalline MgO surfaces in simulated body fluid (SBF) is investigated. The mechanism and nucleation growth surface layers relevant for biomineralization was studied by means situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) complemented with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). At initial immersion stages, dissolution dominates overall whereas becomes at later stages. Square etch pits are observed first time physiological pH-value. results discussed terms delicate interplay between layers.
