摘要: Ranaviruses are pathogens that cause disease in ectothermic vertebrate species, and responsible for die-off events multiple taxa across the globe. Understanding threat of ranavirus wild captive populations is a growing conservation economic interest. Quantifying risk central premise to understanding pathogen, surveillance studies logical starting point. In this chapter, we discuss how design ranavirus, required sample sizes, statistical analyses commonly used analyze data, modeling approaches predict outcomes. Additionally, cover process Import Risk Analysis, which quantifies introduction into new area. The principles discussed herein will help organizations investigators document distribution ranaviruses, identify hotspots infection disease, determine factors associated with emergence, collect data necessary practical intervention strategies.
