An elastic analysis for thick cylindrical pressure vessels with variable thickness

摘要: This paper derives a semi-analytical solution to determine displacements and stresses in thick cylindrical shell with variable thickness under uniform pressure based on disk form multilayers. The proposed study partitions the cylinder into disk-layer parts their of cylinder. According existence shear stress thickness, equations governing layers are acquired first deformation theory (FSDT), which set general differential equations. In this study, is partitioned n different disks sets derived. these provides boundary conditions continuity between layers. results compared those obtained through analytical numerical solution. For purpose solution, matched asymptotic method (MAM) for finite element (FEM implemented.
