摘要: A long-standing problem in Earth Sciences is understanding the evolution of global biogeochemical cycling through time. Such an requires knowledge many variables, one most important which magnitude and composition chemical weathering fluxes from continents to oceans. It not possible sample anything but present-day fluxes, geological record does contain a direct dissolved fluxes. Therefore reconstructing past depends on our ability relate some parameter that measurable record. On scale, variations oceanic tracers such as isotopic compositions Sr Ca are related erosion fluxes; however, interpretation these proxies rarely straightforward. regional records synorogenic sedimentary accumulation provide information may constrain proxies.
