摘要: Mercury contamination of the Chesapeake Bay is a concern to health authorities in region. We evaluate economic and effects postulated recreational commercial fishing advisories for striped bass on Maryland portion bay. Awareness response advisory estimated using meta-analysis literature. Three values are estimated: welfare losses anglers, fishery, benefits. An estimate percentage consumer surplus loss applied value all days bay loss. Welfare fishery based model supply demand. Health benefits exposure epidemiological relationships, while potentially large, highly uncertain. Results also suggest most individuals below standards ex ante, such that should target high-frequency consumers.
