摘要: Small non-protein coding RNAs (ncRNAs) play important roles in development, stress response and other cellular processes. Silkworm is an model for studies on insect genetics control of Lepidopterous pests. We have previously identified 189 novel intermediate-size ncRNAs silkworm Bombyx mori, including 40 that showed altered expression different developmental stages. Here we characterized the functions these by measuring their expressions six tissues fifth instar larvae using Northern blot real-time polymerase chain reaction assays. nine (four small nucleolar five unclassified ncRNAs) were enriched silk gland, four gland-specific expression. further three gland-enriched predominantly expressed anterior whereas another highly accumulated posterior suggesting they may fibroin synthesis. Furthermore, ncRNA, Bm-152, exhibited converse pattern with its antisense host gene gartenzwerg diverse tissues, might regulate through RNA-protein complex. In addition, two Bm-102 Bm-159 can be found histone modification complex, which indicated epigenetic modifications. Taken together, provided first preliminary functional analysis ncRNAs, will help understand molecular mechanism gland-development
