摘要: a b s t r c Biological diversity can be measured using ecological, taxonomic and functional indices, although numerous studies have concluded that organism morphology also source for computing indices. In the present study, we characterized fish geometric morphology, which included body shape landmarks as well of fins, computed correlation among taxonomic, morphological indices (including new index defined here called “morphological richness”). Morphological were calculated both from abundance data presence/absence data. To carry out this thirteen assemblages two different areas Catalan coast (north-western Mediterranean) analyzed. The was sampled by commercial fishing vessels trammel nets. results clearly indicated each type is related to one dimension biodiversity space. Furthermore, demonstrated provided similar when opening possibility analyze evolution over time species checklists collected in experimental surveys late XIX century present.
