摘要: This paper uses a structural gravity model based on Anderson and van Wincoop (2003) to quantify test the hypothesis that EU harmonization of food regulations increases bilateral trade. Using self-constructed database identifies processed products at detailed level covered by harmonization, our results suggest exports subject harmonized are 253% greater than not for 1998. The also estimates tariff equivalent trade costs arises from non-harmonized which ranges between 73% 97%. Both these effects vary across sub-sectors.
