摘要: Abstract Scanning transmission ion microscopy (STIM) through measurement of energy loss individual ions is a quantitative imaging technique with several unique capabilities. The uniqueness derives conjointly from the large penetration small scattering MeV in low-Z specimens, simple relationship between and projected or areal density, almost 100% efficiency which one obtains pixel data ions. Since contrast not numbers events, statistics straggling affects image but counting does not. Small makes it possible to observe details within transparent specimens. High collect sets for computed tomography, stereo, high-definition radiation dose. allows minimize aberrations by use apertures, achieve good precision determination even live biological specimens air since only few per are required. This paper includes bibliography on STIM ions, discusses accuracy that can density coloring supplements review recent examples Melbourne Eugene microprobes.
