摘要: Abstract Cobalt recovery from aqueous Co(II) is one critical step for of cobalt and recycle spent lithium ion batteries, but suffers consumption large amount energy chemicals. Effective environmental friendly processes are thus needed to improve the existing process limitations. This study proposes a new approach dihydroxide production using oxygen-reducing biocathode microbial fuel cells (MFCs) with respect utilization clean production. OH− generated biocathodes in situ reacted form precipitated Co(OH)2, achieving simultaneous electricity generation. The highest rate 0.079 ± 0.001 mmol/(L·h) yield 0.24 ± 0.00 mol/mol COD 1.5 W/m3 were obtained under optimal condition dissolved oxygen 0.031 mM, an initial pH 5.6, concentration 0.508 mM. These results demonstrate that MFCs may be promising batteries as well power
