摘要: Abstract The visuotopic organization of the primary visual cortex (area 17) and extrastriate regions surrounding it (areas 18a 18) has been studied in gray rats using standard microelectrode mapping techniques. results confirm extend previous observations rat. Apart from representation contralateral field (VF) area 17, which upper VF is represented caudally nasal laterally, there are additional representations cortex. In lateral 18a) at least 4 such representations, namely lateromedial (LM), anterolateral (AL), laterointermediate (LI) laterolateral (LL). LM (second area) medially, being thus a mirror image V1. AL (third rostrally VF, LM. LI, medial lateral, LM, or reduced copy two temporal labeled anteromedial (AM) posteromedial (PM). AM, lower extreme rostral. 30° azimuth provides boundary between AM PM. Thus, organized as counter-clockwise rotation by 90° V1 representation. PM, topography like but caudal, AM.
