摘要: Poor nutrient and water holding capacities characterise highly weathered soils, thereby limiting soil productivity. This study was conducted to investigate the potential of improving productivity through amending soils with zeolite effect improvements on moisture cation retention capacities. Two experiments were carried out: i) In first experiment, an ALISOL ACRISOL each amended increases in CEC by 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 125%. The mixtures placed pots allowed equilibrate for a period six weeks, thereafter determined. ii) second agronomic performance evaluated same used experiment. A factorial experiment out greenhouse five levels urea (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 g / plant) as main plot, increase 75 100% sub-plot. Maize test crop this harvested at end eight weeks when dry matter yield Significant (p<0.05) obtained. For every gram added kilogram soil, plant available increased 0.12% non-significant 0.02% ALISOL. Soil 0.10 cmol/kg 0.11 respectively. combination 2 g/pot maize 75% 57% ACRISOL. When application rate exceeded 16.21 kg (36.58% 60.27% ACRISOL), declined. found correlate declining tolerance increasing sodium (Na) concentrations. has shown that within limited range, addition zeolite iv to can help exchange
